Happy Friday (finally)!

I was beginning to think that the weekend would never get here. Why are there weeks that just seem to drag on and on forever? It's like Superman is out there reversing the rotation of the Earth or something. Anyway, I didn't post this week because there was just not much new to report.

Last weekend, Liv became intrigued by the curious little hole on Stanley's backside. She managed to stick her finger in there once, and tried a couple of more times. Good thing I was clued in on her plan. Stanley was also very thankful for that. She also decided to try some of his food. This picture truly shows her mischievous side. This is just before she pops it into her mouth, just after I had yelled "NO!"

It's like: "What mom? I wasn't doing anything, silly." Meanwhile, you notice she is hiding the dog food in her right hand.

This weekend we have a few things planned. Tomorrow we are cleaning out the garage, and hopefully the rest of the house as well. Our community garage sale is May 6, so I (I would say we, but a certain husband has really not helped at all) have been cleaning out closets and cabinets getting ready for it. I am hoping we (I) can make some money to go toward the new camera I am jonesing for.

Tomorrow night we are going over to one of my friend's house for dinner. He and his wife just bought a new house and want to entertain. They have a couple of cats, so I am interested to see how Liv chooses to violate them. Sunday, Liv and I are meeting two of my friends for breakfast. One of them is our trusty dogsitter. I have been dieting all week in anticipation of the tasty pancakes (or french toast) at Austin Java.

And that about wraps it up. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Easter = Yellow

Since Easter was last weekend, I thought I would share some photos of me from Easters past. Apparantly, my mom believed one must wear yellow for Easter.

Before and After

Remember the chair I told you I bought at Antique Weekend with plans of painting. Well, I have actually finished it! This is the first project I have started and completed since Liv was born.

Happy Easter!

Hey ya'll, Liv here. I wanted to tell you all about my Easter visit with Granny and Papaw. We drove a long way to their house Saturday morning. Granny had a really cool surprise for me--a little car that I can sit on and scoot with my feet. Mama took a picture of me on it, but accidentally deleted it. Sorry.

We went to visit my cousins Brooke and Brenna. Granny had also bought me a wagon (she likes to spoil me, which is okay with me). So I got to ride to their house in the wagon.

While there, I had lots and lots of fun. Brooke took me for a ride in her Jeep. How cool is it that the girl has her own Jeep!

Then Aunt June pulled out a car just for me! Mom and Dad even brought it home for me to ride in when they go on walks (now if I could just get them to go on walks).

I also played with Granny and Papaw's dog, Andy. He kinda looks like Stanley, but older and fatter, and something happened to his ears.

Sunday morning we all went to this place called Church. I had to get dressed up in that itchy dress again, but it was worth it because everyone at church gushed about me.

There was lots of singing then this really loud man started talking. I couldn't hear myself over him so I had to scream. Mama rushed me out, and then we got to play in this room all by ourselves. Then I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was back at Granny's house.

We came home Sunday afternoon, and I slept the entire way. I was just so tired! After all that excitement, I really needed a drink.

I hope you all had a happy Easter too!

Weekend photos

Saturday, we made the trip to Warrenton/Round Top for Antique Weekend. One of my missions was to stop and take a picture of Liv in the bluebonnets. Sean was appalled at the idea of stopping on the side of road, but I insisted. Unfortunately, I couldn't take too many pictures because he was impatient with us. Liv really doesn't like sitting in the grass so I didn't get any photos without either her hands up or a pained look on her face. This is the best one I got:

Sunday, Liv and I went to Target. I also worked on painting a chair I bought on Saturday. Before and after photos will be available once I finish (who knows when that will be). Here a photo of Liv in her cute little summer outfit:

Liv's Vacation in Country

I know I promised this days ago, but I have been quite busy at work and tired at home (no energy to post). But here it is--Liv's vacation at Granny and Papaw's in pictures.

She took a ride on the lawn mower with Papaw. Loved it.

She got a new swing. Loved it. (I have to go buy her one this weekend.)

(She is eating the strap, in case you were wondering. She does this with ANYTHING that has a strap, including my purses.)

Here she is doing some sort of push-up, or telling Granny to kiss it--not sure which. But isn't that just the cutest little booty.

And what is a visit to the country with having some fresh steak.

Sorry this is so short....got work to do. Be sure to come back Saturday. I get to pick up her Easter pictures tomorrow, and once I scan them I will post them here.

I left my stomach (and money) in Las Vegas.

We traveled a long way to make a big deposit at the Golden Nugget Bank of Las Vegas. We had fun, but did not win (i.e. LOST). Here's the run-down:

  • We took the 7:30 a.m. flight from Austin Wednesday morning. We arrived in Vegas at 8:30 a.m. (two-hour time change). Great, an extra full day. Uh, except we couldn't check in until 11:00, and I was TIRED.
  • We decided to have some breakfast while we waited. The Golden Nugget has a great cafe (The Carson Street Cafe). Unfortunately, there was a wait (but I guess we had plenty of time to kill). The hostess came through and asked if there were any parties of 5 or more. There was a group of 4 in front of us, so Sean suggested we sit together. Totally random, but I am so glad we did it. They were two fabulous couples originally from San Antonio, but now living in Georgia (and missing Texas). They were Hispanic, and they found my love of Mexican food amusing. We had a lot of fun visiting with them.
  • We stayed downtown and gambled Wednesday and Thursday. Sean took 2nd place in a poker tournament and won almost enough to break even for the day
  • Friday, we went to New York, New York, which is my favorite casino. We had lunch and gambled a little. We then headed back to the Nugget so Sean could play in another tournament (he didn't win).
  • Saturday, we went to the Stratosphere where we went up to the tower. "At 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and the tallest building west of the Mississippi River." Here is a picture of me and Sean on the observation deck.

  • While 1,000 feet in the air, we rode Insanity and Big Shot. Insanity spins you at 45 mph at a 70 degree angle, 900+ feet above the ground. It was awesome. The Big Shot, however, was not so awesome. In fact, I HATED it. "The Big Shot thrill ride catapults riders from the 921-foot high platform up the Tower's mast to a height of 1,081 feet. Traveling at 45 miles per hour, riders experience 4G's as they reach the very top, and feel negative G's on the way down." Uh, yeah, I almost lost my lunch, and felt nauseous for the rest of the day. We just had to buy the picture they took of us, because my face says it all. (If you are wondering why I am shoeless, I had on flip flops and had to remove them because I would have lost them 1000 feet above the city.)

  • We left Vegas at 8:30 a.m. Sunday (which was really early since we lost an hour due to Daylight Savings Time). We got to Austin at 1:00 p.m. and drove 1.5 hours to meet my parents to pick up Liv.
  • I will do a separate post about Liv's visit with Granny and Papaw. I think they are still trying to recover.
