Dreaming of a white . . . Easter?

There are times when this world seems to turn upside down. This weekend was certainly one of them. On Friday, I took Liv to a beautiful field of bluebonnets for the obligatory spring photos.

On Saturday, we journeyed to my parents' house for Easter. I purposefully ignored the warnings of a cold front -- just chalked it up to over-zealous weathermen trying to create a little drama. As a result, I did not pack appropriately.
Since we are always in a rush to get back on the road on Sundays, we decided to have Easter dinner and the egg hunt on Saturday.

(checking out the loot)

(Wanna trade?)

Luckily, we hunted eggs just in time because about an hour later, it hit. What hit? The biggest snow storm I have ever experienced in Texas. In all my 34 years I have honestly never seen it snow so much. Hello, it is April. It DOES NOT snow in Texas, especially not in April. I simply could not believe it.
(After the first hour of snow fall.)

(Giant snow flakes.)

(Throwing snow balls.)

We were initially considering a trip to Wisconsin for Easter, but decided against for several reasons, one being that it was too cold there. Now that is irony at its best.
