All Dressed Up x 3

Mission: Get Liv's picture taken in pretty new Easter dress.

Goal: Spend less than $100. (Decide to give Wal-Mart Portrait Studio a try.)

Attempt #1: Get Liv dressed, curl her hair, put her in car seat screaming because dress is itchy. Go to Wal-Mart at 3:00 p.m. Saturday without an appointment. Leave Wal-Mart at 3:05 p.m. because there is a 3-hour wait. (Make appointment for 6:30 p.m.) Put Liv in car seat screaming because dress is itchy. Get home, undress Liv.

Attempt #2: Get Liv dressed again, put her in car seat screaming because dress is itchy. Go to Wal-Mart for 6:30 p.m. appointment. Wait 1 hour. When it is our turn, learn that it is Wal-Mart's policy to not allow kids to stand on table to have picture made. Yell. Leave in a huff because what is purpose of a pretty dress if you can't see the whole thing. Take dress off before putting Liv in car seat so as not to hear her scream all the way home.

Attempt #3: Get up Sunday morning. Call JC Penny Portrait Studios for appointment. Get 1:40 p.m. appointment. Dress Liv in comfortable clothes, curl her hair, pack up dress and shoes. Go to mall, wait less than 30 minutes, get Liv dressed. Get adorable pictures made of adorable girl in adorable Easter dress. Change back into comfortable clothes and have a few more pictures taken. Spend 45 minutes deciding which ones to order and how many. Spend $60 and leave completely satisfied.

Moral: Wal-Mart sucks.

Here are a couple of photos that I snapped of Liv in her dress. Doesn't she look like a princess?

And here are a couple of her in her "other" outfit.

The dress is beautiful. :)

As for the photos... when my third child was a baby I took her for her 3 month photos at JC Penney. She was sound asleep and out like a light! I said that was fine, and wanted them to take a pretty snuggly shot of my sleeping baby... they would NOT do it. She said the company prohibited it because it looks like a 'dead baby'.

UGH!

That was stomach turning. But guess what? A couple years later sleeping baby photos became ALL THE RAGE! Snuggled, and in black and white, or dressed in all white, everyone had sleepy baby photos!
