BREAKING NEWS......

Poonami Hits Sears. No Casualties, Only Property Damage.

AUSTIN -- Disaster struck an Austin-area Sears Portrait Studio late Wednesday afternoon as an over-zealous mother tried to have professional photographs made in honor of her daughter's one-month "birthday." The child, Olivia, and her father warned the mother that this was a bad idea, despite the fact that Olivia finally fit into what Mom felt was an adorable red-checked Winnie the Pooh jumper.

"I tried to tell her that I didn't want to go. Just take a look at this face I made before leaving the house," Olivia said.

Olivia decided dinner was required just before the photo session, but even this failed to stop her from screaming. Mom insisted on going forward with the session anyway. After taking two terrible photos, Mom noticed a foul smell emanating from the child. Simultaneously, she noticed a small yellowish-brown spot on the front of the Pooh jumper. Turns out that "Pooh" was a prophetic choice of clothing. By the time Mom grabbed Olivia up from the white prop upon which she was posed, the small spot began to grow. By the time she got a blanket laid down so that she could change the child's diaper, the spot essentially covered the front of her clothes.

As the new parents struggled to clean Olivia without the use of a water hose, they struggled between laughing hysterically and gagging from the horrible smell. Sears graciously donated several plastic bags to hold the rancid outfit and blanket. Given that Mom failed to include an extra outfit in the diaper bag, Olivia completed the photo session in the buff.

This story has a happy ending, however. Olivia enjoys spending time without clothes, so she quite enjoyed the car ride home. Dad is happy as well, because he gets say "I told you so" to his wife, and she can't argue with him this time.
