Thank God for Grandmas, Grandpas, and Pain Killers

Seems I somehow managed to get a herniated disk in my lower back, which is pressing on my sciatic nerve causing me tremendous pain in my hips, legs, and feet. How in the world did you do that, you might ask. Well, I suppose it comes from me being horribly out of shape and thinking I could go to the driving range with Sean Thursday afternoon. That's right people, I slipped a disk swinging a golf club...wanna make something of it? Yeah, I know it is pathetic. I started hurting Thursday night wasn't able to sleep very well. I went to work on Friday, but left at 1:00 because I was so uncomfortable. By Friday night was in A LOT of pain...I am talking childbirth level of pain. I could hardly walk and no position, sitting or lying, was comfortable. The only thing that gave me some level of comfort was a hot bath--I took 4.

Luckily, my parents were in town because my sister's car had broken down so my dad came to fix it. Granny was able to help us out with Liv Friday night. I was just minutes from making Sean take me to the emergency room a couple of times, but I knew that the $500 deductible would screw up our trip to Vegas at the end of the month. I slept 30 minutes the entire night, and went to the urgent care clinic at as soon as it opened at 8:00 a.m. They gave me lots of pain killers and steroids for the inflammation. If it is not better soon, I have to go in for an MRI. My parents generously agreed to stay Saturday night to help with Liv, and we are so thankful for that. Granny taught her to patty cake. If you put these two photos together, you can see the clap.

The pain meds are definitely working. I can walk now without a lot of pain...I was even able to make a quick trip to Babies 'R Us today. Speaking of BRU. Liv was just too tuckered out to enjoy the trip. Here she is asleep in the shopping cart.

No way does your kid fall asleep in the shopping cart.

You were probably blessed with one of those who sleep in the car too.

FYI...DO NOT SLEEP WITH A BACK BRACE ON...past expereince speaking here, it will mess you up bad...

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Such a cute baby in the cart. How come my kids never did that? They would just cry until I got them home!

Oh that sounds awful! Hope you are all better now! Glad your parents were able to help out with Liv. She looks absolutely adorable sleeping in the basket.
